We import these transmissions directly from England due to the availability and the relatively low mileage driven by English drivers. We completely dismantle each transmission and overdrive unit for a thorough inspection to determine the condition of each and every piece. All new bearings, seals, gaskets, and layshaft are installed along with any gears that show the slightest bit of wear. The overdrive unit is inspected and all seals, o-rings, and gaskets are replaced. The units are then reassembled and mounted on our exclusive transmission dyno-test stand and thoroughly tested. The transmissions are run through all the gears to check for correctness and accuracy, and the overdrives engaged over and over for at least 30 minutes. These units are warranted for 90 days or 5000 miles from purchase.

   After the successful test period, we make sure all of the speedometer drive gear mechanism is connected (so you can still use your speedometer). You will need to purchase a longer speedometer cable, and most likely have your speedometer recalibrated to assure accuracy and safety (and save on speeding tickets).

If you have not experienced an MGB with overdrive, then you are really missing one of the best options ever offered on the cars. The reduction in engine vibration and noise level alone is worth the cost, not to mention the increased fuel mileage savings.

Most cars will be able to use their stock drive shaft, so very little major mechanical changes are necessary. You will need some English wiring knowledge, and depending on the year of your car, the ability to run and install an auxiliary switch and wiring harness.
